The Mahasthangarh Archaeological Museum was established in 1986 on the banks of the river Karatoya and in the vicinity of the hills of Mahasthangarh . Realizing the importance of the history and heritage of Mahasthangarh, this archeological museum was initiated. Later , the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Bangladesh took the initiative to take care of it. Historical places of the northern region: Mahasthangarh , Dinajpur , Paharpur , Sherpur , Rani Bhabanipur. Thousands of years ago, gold , silver , iron , bronze , stone , kamsasaha of the precious metal and terracotta figurines, a sharp weapon for self-defense, etc. The content of essential accessories that sobhabardhana Mahasthangarh Museum. The museum has numerous specimens of artefacts collected from Mahasthangarh and surrounding areas. Numerous relics of Maurya , Gupta , Pala and other dynasties are carefully preserved here. The museum has very old clay statues, utensils, gold objects, bronze objects, black stone sculptures, sandstone sculptures, earthenware carved bricks, various inscriptions, earthenware and other metal buttons, ear flowers, nose flowers, precious stones, marble, burnt There are many ancient and valuable patterns including clay dolls, toys, various kinds of ancient ornaments. Also preserved inside the museum are several statues of burnt clay and precious stones, inscriptions, ornaments and metal objects bearing testimony of different times. Notable among these are the earliest terracotta statues of the 5th century BC, terracotta products of the 8th to 11th centuries, Arabic inscriptions of the 15th century, Ganesha of the precious marble stone of the 18th century, scorpions of the 11th century, Brahmans of the 12th century, and the 8th-12th century. 8th to 10th century ornamental clay balls, 9th and 10th century octagonal metal bracelets, various period ironware, 11th century black stone ambika, 10th and 11th century burnt clay slabs, 8th to 9th century bronze statues of various sizes, 4th and 5th century Parts of terracotta sculptures etc. There is a beautiful garden outside the museum's display room . There is a celebration of flowers and fruit trees of different colors . Several archeological specimens have also been kept in the outer courtyard. Students from schools, colleges, madrasas, universities, teachers, researchers, experts from different parts of the country come here for educational tours. A picnic spot has been set up in the mango orchard of Mahasthangarh for the visitors. The museum's summer schedule is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thirty minutes lunch break from 1pm. The winter schedule is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 1 pm to 30 minutes lunch break. The Mahasthangarh Museum is closed on full Sundays of the week, half days on Mondays and public holidays.
