Ether of Fraud by Steve Damm 7/1/22 We spun around, (holding hands) and played pretend, (on quicksand) until we were dizzy and confused. We dreamed ourselves, (in command) out of existence, (inhuman) so surprised we weren’t amused. Self-created, self- fulfilling, self- destructed, crazed, deluded ideas became unobstructed. These totems of our own inabilities, replaced all the pillars of reality, immutably, tragically, permanently, detrimentally. Just because the masses would believe it, doesn’t mean manipulate as you see fit. A lie commonly believed to be the truth, is a poison for the old and weapons on the youth. Here in the ephemeral null, life pretends to push instead of pull. Here in the ether of fraud, we pretend beasts are men and men are God. We stayed profound, (screaming loud) no eye to offend, (pluck it out) until we were blinded by virtue. We maimed ourselves, (so damn proud) out of persistence, (a dark cloud) and survived when we weren’t supposed to. Selfish fear, selfish desires, selfish amends, dazed and swinging with no sight, still we pretend. These totems of our own disabilities, replaced all the things we were meant to see, immutably, tragically, permanently, detrimentally.
