HOW TO HULA HOOP - for BEGINNERS

Hello new hoopers! So you're here to learn HOW TO HULA HOOP, that is awesome. I have 4 quick tips to get you hula hooping! A little bit about me. I started hula hooping almost 10 years ago. It took me a WHOLE LESSON to even get the hoop going but I was not going to let that stop me. I was pretty determined and now 10 years later I am a full time hoop teacher! Things I had wish I had known. 1. SIZE MATTERS! You might feel silly with a massive hoop or think, wow, that hoop is far to big, but, guess what, that hoop is probably not too big at all. When you are a beginner, remember you are just that and take the time to feel the hoop and enjoy this part of your hoop journey! Also, everyone os different. It took me a whole lesson to spin that hoop, some people pick it up right away, and some it takes a bit longer but it's ok! 2. Make sure you have your feet nice and wide. A good base is important! 3. Really place that hoop on your waist. This is key when beginning. Place the hoop where you want it to go. If you let the hoop go too soon, it doesn't know where it is going. Give the hoop some energy to start with, really push that hoop around you and keep on pushing. 4. Wiggle from side to side or forwards and backwards. A nice steady rhythm will do it. Make sure to push that hoop when you feel it on your side or tummy if going forwards and backwards. I really hope this video has helped you. Please comment below as i would love to hear from you.
