Password Station can send notifications to both enrolled and non-enrolled users to alert them of a pending password expiration. In the notification, you can direct users via an embedded URL link to Password Station to change their passwords. Additionally, a notification can be sent to all non-enrolled users asking them to enroll in Password Station so they can perform self-service password reset and account unlock functions. To configure Password Station to send these alerts, start at the Avatier Identity Management Suite, or AIMS Configuration user interface. Select Password Station in the product tree. Then under Options, select Email Templates. Scroll to Password Expiration Email Templates. To notify enrolled users of pending password expirations, or that their password has already expired, enable the Password About to Expire Message template. When you select the check box, you also enable the associated Password Station alert. AIMS email templates can be configured in either plain text or HTML format. When HTML is preferred, select the HTML Email Template check box to use the HTM editor. Additionally, you can notify non-enrolled users of pending password expirations by enabling the Password Expiring Non-Enrolled Notification Message. After making edits, select Save. Then under Options, select Alerts. Scroll to Password Expiration Notification. Notice both Notify Enrolled and Non-Enrolled users are checked. Enabling the email template for these notifications enables the configuration options. Conversely, selecting the checkboxes automatically enables the email templates. Set the number of days before a password expires to send notifications. Then, select Save and… Email notifications will now be sent every day to users with passwords ready to expire and continue until they change or reset their passwords.
