Today we're going to be taking a look at the Brophy aluminum, scissor steps. These steps are going to attach to your RV for easier access. These are not just intended for RV use, they can be applied to many different applications. Nice, lightweight construction, they're manufactured from a heavy gauge aluminum construction for maximum strength and durability. The stairs are designed to self-adjust to the terrain and they're also going to be able to fold for compact and easy storage. Now, the unit's going to come fully assembled, very easy to install and to use. It's going to come with your detailed installation instructions, so those are included. It's a universal mount design. On the actual step surface or platform, it's going to have that diamond tread design, that's going to provide additional traction which is going to help increase safety and sure footing. Your trailer mounting bracket is included, it's going to be this piece right here. This would mount to your application and it's going to provide the holes right here which would accept the upper bar right here. The upper bar of the steps would engage inside these hooks and that's what would hold the unit in place when you're ready to use it. Really nice design, it's also going to come with your mounting hardware, so bracket and hardware are included. The hardware right here, it's going to come with 4, quarter inch by inch and a half long lag screws. Now, a separate mounting bracket is required if attaching this to a pickup tailgate, sold separately and can be found here at etrailer.com, by part number TSSB. The overall length of the unit from edge to edge, right here, of the bracket, this is going to give us a measurement of 18 and 1 quarter inches long. Then the mount holes on the unit are separated on center by 5 and a quarter inches. The product's made right here in the USA, as you can see it's a nice 2 step design. The extended vertical height is 18 to 23 inches high, so if the height of your mounting area where a step is needed, excuse me, is between those measurements then this would be a great choice for you. When it's fully retracted or compressed it's going to measure about 7 inches tall. Taking a look at that actual step size real quick, measuring edge to edge going this direction. It's going to give us a measurement of about 17 inches. Front to back it's going to give us a step depth of pretty close to 6 and a half inches deep. Now when it comes to the drop or rise that's simply measuring the distance between the platforms of the steps. It's going to give us a drop and rise of about 7 and a half inches. The unit is going to feature a weight capacity of 250 pounds, it's really easy to move to a stowed position as well. I'm just going to remove my support right here. I'll show you how it folds. What you would do is you would take the step and you would simply just remove it from the mount, from that included bracket, just raise that bar up. It can be removed from the mount, it does rotate for easy installation and removal and then all you have to do is compress the steps together and on the back it's going to have a bracket with a latching mechanism. That's going to engage and that's going too keep the steps in the folded position. That's going to do it for today's look at the Brophy aluminum, scissor steps.
