On the 13th of April, 2010, Cathay Pacific Flight 780 set off from Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, Indonesia en route to the Hong Kong International Airport. The take off conditions were standard and they were expected to make a routine landing in just under 5 hours. However, a few hours into the flight, it became apparent to the crew members that this was going to be no routine flight.
