In this video, I will show you my top 5 Linux distributions of 2019. 5. Fedora: Fedora Workstation is a polished, easy to use operating system for laptop and desktop computers, with a complete set of tools for developers and makers of all kinds. It is just a beautiful and very stable operating system. Would I advise it for a new user, no, but it is a very nice OS for the more advanced users. 4. openSUSE: The makers choice for sysadmins, developers and desktop users. OpenSUSE is a very nice OS and a very beautiful OS indeed. It is a very polished OS that will grow on you as a user. It has the most advanced system settings tool out there called Yast and this is one of the key features of this OS. Would I advise it for a new user, no, but it is a very nice OS for the more advanced users. 3. Debian 10: Debian is one of the grandfathers of the Linux operating systems out there. It is used as the based for a lot of other Linux distributions like Ubuntu. This is one of the most stable OS out there and once installed it will not fail you. Some of the software that is installed by default is older, but with the use of flatpacks this is getting less important. The OS is as stable as you can get it, and you are able to install more resend software versions using the flatpacks. Would I advise it for a new user, no, but it is a very nice OS for the more advanced users. 2. Arch Linux: Arch Linux is just the most advanced OS in this list, the installation is just the basic OS with the desktop of your choice and it will always keep up to date as this is a rolling release. You can look at arch like you look at Lego, you create a base and then you start installing the things you need. Arch is just the way to learn the most about your computer and with the help of the very great wiki of arch the way to learn Linux if you want to learn things from scratch. Would I advise it for a new user, no, but it is a very nice OS for the more advanced users. 1. Pop!_OS Pop!_OS is the one that surprised me this year. Although it is based on Ubuntu, it is very different in it's approach to presenting itself to the user. First of all the installer is very beautiful and customized to the look and feel. It is easy to follow and after installation, you are greeted with a minimal install gnome desktop with just the software a basic user needs. They are always making changes in the background and these changes are very nice, like the easy switch between the light and the dark mode out of the box in the settings, no need to install gnome-tweaks for those actions. It is very stable and the theming done by the team is just beautiful, I really think that you do not need to theme or change as much as I would do in the other OS. Would I advise it for a new user, yes I would, like said the installation is simple, the look and feel are beautiful and it is very stable. This is why it is my number 1 for 2019 and for the beginning of 2020 as well. Let me know what you would like to see on this channel, place your questions, suggestions below in the comments.
