How to Calculate Square Footage

Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: http://bit.ly/MMASurgeEp1 Mahalo math expert Allison Moffett shows you how to calculate square footage. Step 1: The Square Footage of a Square or Rectangle --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Carefully measure one full side of the room or area with a tape measure, to the nearest inch 2. Convert feet to inches by multiplying the number of feet times 12, and then adding any leftover inches to that figure 3. Write down the length that you measured 4. Now measure the side perpendicular to the one you just measured 5. Convert to inches 6. Write this down 7. Multiply the number of inches of both sides together 8. Divide this number by 144 to find the square footage c Step 2: The Square Footage of A Triangle --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Measure the distance between two corners of the triangle 2. Convert to inches by multiplying the feet times 12, and then adding on the leftover inches 3. Write down your measurement 4. From the opposite corner, measure down in a straight line so that you meet the wall that you just measured at a right angle 5. Convert to inches 6. Write down that measurement 7. Multiply both of your numbers together 8. Divide the total by two--this will give you the area in square inches 9. Divide this number by 144 to get the square footage of your triangle Step 3: How to Get the Square Footage of a Circle --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Measure the entire width of your circle 2. Convert to inches by multiplying feet by 12, and then adding the leftover inches to this number 3. Divide this number by 2 to get the radius 4. Square the radius (multiply it times itself) 5. Multiply this number by 3.14 ( pi) 6. Divide this by 144 to find the square footage Read more by visiting our page at: http://www.mahalo.com/how-to-calculat...
