In this week’s episode, we tackle one of the most dreaded jobs on our beloved 2015 Range Rover L405 Autobiography 4.4L SDV8—replacing the rear crankshaft oil seal. Our “Queen” is currently for sale, but we didn’t want to pass on an oil leak to the next owner. As many of you know, replacing the rear main seal on this engine means removing the entire transmission. But we added a heavy-duty transmission lift to our workshop, which made a big difference. We followed the official Land Rover workshop manual (L405), but as always, Vera’s hands-on knowledge often outshines the manual. The biggest surprise came when we removed the flywheel and had our first real look at the rear crank seal… but you’ll have to see that part yourself!
