Adobe Portfolio Tutorial: Pages

Hi! My name is Mary, and in this video I will be showing you how to use Pages in Adobe Portfolio. Before you can start adding content to your website, you first need to make sure that you have pages to upload that content to. In Adobe Portfolio, there are 5 different page types: Pages, Welcome pages, Lightroom Albums, Collections and Links. Pages are primarily what make up your portfolio - they can be groupings of images, text, video, sound, etc that communicate you, your work, and your story. They are the most flexible of all page types and are perfect for when you want to add a more customized layout. Welcome Pages are designed to let you create single-page websites. These pages hide the navigation on your page, which keeps viewers confined to a single page. These types of pages are great for landing pages or event pages with limited content. Lightroom Album pages allow you to quickly create a page using your files stored in LightRoom. Collections are groupings of pages. collections if you decide you would like to categorize your work: common collection ideas divide work by creative field (illustration, animation, etc), by date , or by medium (digital, acrylic paint, etc). You can use collections to divide your work however best fits for you. Link Pages can be used to link a page to an external site. For example, if you would like viewers to be navigated to an external Etsy shop, you may want to consider using a link page. I can view all of my pages by selecting “Pages” in the left hand editor panel. As you can see, I already have two pages here: contact and work. These pages are automatically included anytime you create a website with the ‘full portfolio’ option selected. To create a new page, simply navigate to the left hand panel in the editor, and click the + icon Then you can select your desired page type. Now you can title your page and select the destination (navigation or collection). If I select navigation, the page will appear as its own link in the navigation bar. If I select collection, this page will be displayed as part of my collection - I can add several pages to a single collection to quickly create a portfolio. I can view all of my website’s pages by selecting “Pages” in the left hand editor panel. Each website created with the ‘full portfolio’ option will already automatically have one collection page (work), and one custom page (contact), as you can see here. To reorder pages, all I have to do is drag them above or below the other pages listed. To delete a page, I just click the gear icon next to that page and select ‘Delete Page’. If I would like to hide a page from public view, I can also easily disable a page by toggling the switch to the right of the page/s name. This allows me to keep the page visible in my editor while keeping it inaccessible to any visitors. This a perfect option if I am constructing a page that I’m not ready to be published yet. To enable the page again, I just click on the switch again. In order to set which page you would like to display as your homepage, click the gear icon next to that page and click ‘ set as homepage’. Now that you know how to create and manage pages, you are ready to start adding content - see you in the next video!
