Tiger Zinda Hai (lit. Tiger is alive) is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language action thriller[4] film, directed and co-written by Ali Abbas Zafar.[5][6] The film stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Sajjad Delfrooz in leading roles, with Angad Bedi, Kumud Mishra, Nawab Shah, Ivan Rodrigues, Girish Karnad and Paresh Rawal in supporting roles.[7][8] The film is the sequel to the 2012 film Ek Tha Tiger and the second installment of the Tiger film series,[9] and is based on the 2014 abduction of Indian nurses by ISIL.[10] The first look of the poster was revealed by Salman Khan through his official Twitter account on 18 October 2017 on the occasion of Diwali.[11] The official trailer was released on 7 November.[12] The film was released on 22 December 2017.[13] With a budget of ₹2.1 billion (US$31 million),[2] it is the one of the most expensive Hindi films and one of the most expensive Indian films of all time. It has grossed more than ₹5.5 billion (US$82 million) at the box office,[14] becoming one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. At the 63rd Filmfare Awards, Tom Struthers won the Filmfare Award for Best Action.[15]
