Complete Engineering Drawing Exam Preparation Guide worth $10 for free: Download here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1F9Pw... In this video we will understand the sections. We will learn how sections will cut the solids and standard cases for engineering drawing exam. i. ‘Section’ in the context of Engineering Drawing means ‘Cut’. ii. A Sectional View is an orthographic view (FV, TV or SV), which has been obtained by cutting the solid with an imaginary section plane (cutting plane). iii. Orthographic Views of an object shows features even if they are complicated. But some drawings become too awkward with hidden lines all over. To avoid this problem, one or more views are drawn as a sectional view. iv. Possible orientation of section plane: a) Section Plane parallel to H.P. b) Section Plane parallel to V.P. c) Section Plane inclined to H.P and perpendicular to V.P. d) Section Plane inclined to V.P and perpendicular to H.P. e) Section Plane inclined to both H.P and V.P. Exercises on Section of Solids: 1.A cone is resting on HP with its base and axis is parallel to VP. The diameter of base is 30mm and axis is 65mm long. Draw the projections of the cone if it is cut by a section plane parallel to HP and passing through a point which is 35mm away from base. • Section Of Solids - Problem 1 2. A cone is resting on HP with its base and axis is parallel to VP. The diameter of base is 30mm and axis is 65mm long. It is cut by a blade which is perpendicular to HP and inclined at 600 to VP. Draw the projections of remaining cone if the cutting plane 10mm away from the axis. • Section Of Solids Problem 2 3. A cone is resting on HP with its base and axis is parallel to VP. The diameter of base is 30mm and axis is 65mm long. Draw the projections of the cone if it is cut by a section plane inclined at 450 to the HP and 35mm away from base. Assume the cutting plane to be perpendicular to VP. • Section Of Solids Problem 3 4. Draw the projections of a cylinder, resting on HP with one its base and axis parallel to VP. The diameter of base is 30mm and axis is 65mm long. Also, it is given that the cylinder is cut by a section plane which is parallel to VP and 8mm away from the axis. • Section Of Solids Problem 4 5. A cylinder is resting on HP with one its base and its axis is parallel to VP. The diameter of base is 30mm and axis is 65mm long. It is cut by a section plane perpendicular to HP and inclined at 600 to VP. If the distance of section plane from the axis is 10mm, draw the sectional front view of the remaining cylinder. • Section of Solids Problem 5 6. • Section Of Solids Problem 6 7. A square prism with side of base 40mm and axis 65mm long is resting with its base on HP such that one its base edge is making an angle of 450 to the VP. It is cut by a section plane inclined at 600 to the HP and 15mm from top base. Draw the sectional top view and front view. • Section Of Solids Problem 7 8. A pentagonal pyramid of base side 30mm and axis 60mm long is resting on its base on HP and one of its base edges is perpendicular to VP. A horizontal section plane cuts the pyramid at a distance of 20mm from apex. Draw the projections of the remaining solid. • Section Of Solids Problem 8 9. A pentagonal pyramid of base side 30mm and axis 60mm long is resting on its base on HP and one of its base edges is perpendicular to VP. A section plane parallel to VP cuts the pyramid at a distance of 15mm from the farthest corner to VP. Draw the projections of the remaining solid. • Section Of Solids Problem 9 10. A pentagonal pyramid of base side 30mm and axis 60mm long is resting on its base on HP and one of its base edges is perpendicular to VP. A section plane inclined 600 to VP cuts the pyramid at a distance of 6mm from the axis. Draw the projections of the remaining solid. • Section Of Solids Problem 10 11. A pentagonal pyramid of side 30mm and axis 60mm long is resting on one of its triangular faces on HP such that its axis is parallel to VP. A section plane parallel to HP and bisecting the axis cuts the pyramid. Draw the projections of leftover pyramid. • Section Of Solids Problem 11 Download the Book To see Questions of below: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1F9Pw... 12 • Section Of Solids Problem 12 13 • Section Of Solids Problem 13 14 • Section Of Solids Problem 14 15 • Section Of Solids Problem 15 16 • Section Of Solids Problem 16 17 • Section Of Solids Problem 17 18 • Section Of Solids Problem 18 19 • Section Of Solids Problem 19
