Fuel price adjustments are expected to be mixed when they kick in on Wednesday, 1st May. While diesel prices looked like they could decline by between 28 and 34 cents a litre, depending on the grade. Newly adjusted fuel prices kick in on 01st Wednesday of a given month. The Department of Minerals Resources and Energy is expected to release the latest data any time before that date. For April, the price of petrol rose by 65 cents, taking the price of a litre to 25-rand and 12 cents in Gauteng. Higher international oil and fuel product prices have been driving up local fuel prices, while the relatively weaker rand has also made it more expensive to import fuel.
