Attending your first conference as a student or ECR is quite daunting and probably quite expensive. How do you get the most out of the experience, and what should you be aiming to get out of this meeting? I think it is always more productive to focus on what you can do for others first, whether it be your supervisor, fellow students, or the conference organisers. When you do this consistently, you’d be surprised how much you get out of the value you give for others.
