Fleeing Afghanistan from the Taliban, Sayed Saddat and his family came to Germany. Now their application for asylum was rejected. They applied for asylum and tried to integrate fast. After their application was rejected, they appealed to a lawyer for help. Sayet Saddat used to work as a translator for NATO in Afghanistan. He risked his life going on patrol with NATO soldiers and thus the Taliban consider him a traitor. One day, they threatened to kill him and his family if he didn't join them. He escaped to Germany with his pregnant wife and their small daughter. Nine months later, their application for asylum was rejected. This came as a shock and they have appealed the decision. Sayet Saddat is learning German and has found an apprenticeship in a supermarket. He and his family are in temporary accommodation in Falkensee near Berlin. They have no desire to return to Afghanistan but their chances of being able to remain in Germany are limited. _______ Exciting, powerful and informative – DW Documentary is always close to current affairs and international events.
