Dubrovnik postcard by Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra

Bach in the Subways is an initiative born in 2010. On March 27, 2022, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra performed on one of the most beautiful stages in Dubrovnik - the Sponza palace terrace. Bach in the Subways is a movement to bring public attention to classical music, mainly through free concerts in celebration of the birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach (March 21). It was created by cellist Dale Henderson who, in 2010, had the idea to refuse donations from listeners and instead give them free postcards with a message on the back. He then announced his project on social media, as well as a call to action which attracted attention from media and musicians. Afterwards, the movement became more and more significant as many orchestras from across the world did their own performances of Back in the Subways. For this year edition our String Orchestra played the Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major BWV 1048 by J. S. Bach. And it was conducted by Maestro Ivan Hut.
