The grand tour Another novice, Antonious, gives Gregor d'Monastery a tour of the various important locations and an introduction to monastic life. 10:12 - 3. First is prayer but it gives Gregor a chance to speak to Lucas and the Circators about their troubled relationship. He manages to leverage his new relationship with the circators to get them to leave Lucas alone. 20:01 - 8. Our daily bread Breakfast is the most important meal they say. Not sure about the lecture but he's able to find more about Lucas and gain his trust. In turn Lucas gives him information that brings one of the other novices' story into question. Maybe he's starting to make progress. 24:47 - 9. The frattery The first work session for Gregor and it's one that he knows well, alchemy. But Nevlas wants to talk to him and tasks him with obtaining a forbidden book on medicine. 31:56 - 10. The scriptorium The library, home of all sorts of forbidden books. And a book on love that the librarian dearly misses. Unlike alchemy, Henry never learned to write properly, so he gets told off. 36:27 - 11. The first supper Brother Cellarius is not usually found around the monastery other than at meal times. He's willing to help, but at a cost. 40:53 - 12. Night Excursion Gregor's learned a few clues in his first day. There's a book holding information about the novices and he was foresighted enough to stash lockpicks that he can use in his exploration.
