Don't fall for the McAfee popup scam that claims you have a security threat or malware or need antivirus software for virus removal from your Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android device. The phone number shown on your screen leads directly to scammers, not McAfee. There's no "removal" needed as it's something that's loading because of malicious ads. The key is that the scammers want you to call the phone number that pops up. If you don't call the number, you're good. Please LIKE this video with the thumbs up to help my video rank highly in Google search results, so that other people will see this helpful information! These kinds of McAfee popup notices in the scam are designed to scare you into thinking you legitimately have an issue with your device and need to software for virus or trojan removal. It's all fake. It's meant to make you believe your device is infected. It's not. It's a scam. This McAfee popup scam has been going around for at least a few months. It's not appearing on your device because you have malware of some kind. Something is happening with websites that have ads that, once those ads load, they trigger the display of the McAfee popup notice. You would think that this would be something that wouldn't happen, but we live in quite the weird world, don't we? If you simply looked at the McAfee popup scam and did not give away any information to the scammers, then you're fine. But if you called or clicked and gave away personal information or financial data at any point, or if you agreed to the scammers to connect to your device remotely or provided them with gift card numbers to make payment, then you got scammed. Call your bank or any payment method you used if you got scammed. If you believe your device was compromised, perhaps reach out to the real Norton or McAfee phone number to see if they offer helpful services, or visit a local computer shop in your town for help.
