EDI is specializing in the development of Smart Embedded Cooperative systems in the fields of smart health, production, mobility, digital life and space. EDI conducts R&D in five research areas. In this video, we demonstrate our expertise in Robotics and machine perception. At EDI we are enabling robots to operate in changing environments and perform tasks that require autonomous decision-making and adaptability. Our systems combine computer vision with perception by other sensors such as radars, lidars; and process the data with original and adapted algorithms, including deep neural networks and artificial intelligence. In order to make data labeling more efficient, we have created a method for generation of synthetic training data, which facilitates the use of our perception algorithms on various real-world tasks such as precision agriculture, ITS, traffic analysis, number plate recognition, biometry, biomedicine. B esides, we are performing cutting edge R&D on connected and automated driving, where we have developed fail-safe, fail-aware and fail-operational vehicle to X communication technology as well as perception system. We use developed drive-by-wire test platform in our ITS TestBed to test different functionalities of the developed technologies, such as torque vectoring algorithms, AI based perception system, and others. Other mobile platforms, including drones, are targets for machine learning algorithms trained at EDI HPC. Our research on trustworthy and explainable AI envisions safe and collaborative operation between robots and humans.
