Our 5th video the "Harvard University First Year Move-In" series. In this video, Aiman can be seen giving a brief tour of his dorm to his parents. This was last year on August 19, 2022. First-year students live in dorms with shared suites adjacent to Harvard Yard (more on that below). Aiman was assigned a room in Matthews. Matthews Hall is a freshman dormitory for Harvard University, constructed in Harvard Yard in 1872. Named after Nathan Matthews of Boston, the hall is built on the site of the Indian College, Harvard's first brick building, which housed a printing press, classrooms, and living quarters for English and American Indian students from 1655 to 1698. We wanted to publish these set of videos well before the move-in dates for this year's Class of 2027. It's little late but that's ok, maybe the videos will be useful for next year's Class of 2028. First-year move-in for the Class of 2027 is scheduled for three dates. Your arrival date depends on whether you are participating in a pre-orientation program: August 22, 2023 (FOP participants) August 24, 2023 (FAP, FIP, FUP, FYRE, and LIFE participants) August 30, 2023 (students not participating in a pre-orientation program) All first-year students live in Harvard Yard or very close to it in one of 17 freshman dorms: Apley Court, Canaday, Grays, Greenough, Hollis, Holworthy, Hurlbut, Lionel, Mower, Massachusetts Hall, Matthews, Pennypacker, Stoughton, Straus, Thayer, Weld, and Wigglesworth. They eat the majority of meals in Annenberg Hall. This is a place of far-ranging conversations where you'll get to know fellow new students. The dorms are grouped into larger clusters called Yards (Crimson, Elm, Ivy and Oak). Move-In Day for Incoming Students: Incoming first-year students will move to campus during the last two weeks of August. Your specific arrival date will depend on whether you choose to participate in a Pre-Orientation Program. What to expect on move-in day: Pick up your Harvard University ID card and room key Vehicles unload in front of dorms, with a strict 20-minute time limit Proctors and peer advising fellows will welcome you and your family to the dorm Complimentary parking is available a 5-10 minute walk from the dorms so that parents and family members can return to help you get settled Campus tours help you become familiar with campus You may run errands, shop for dorm items, or share a meal with your family in the local area before saying goodbye Here are the rest of the videos in our "Harvard Move-In" vlog series: 1. • Harvard University First Year Move-In... | Driving Up To Cambridge MA To Drop Off Aiman (Vlog) 2. • Harvard First Year Move-In | Driving ... | Dashcam Vid Driving To Harvard Stadium Staging Area 3. • Harvard First Year Move-In | From Sta... | From Stadium Staging Area To Johnston Gate 4. • Harvard University First Year Move-In... | Exiting Harvard Yard To Oxford Garage 5. • A Brief Tour Of Aiman's Dorm At Harva... | A Brief Tour Of Aiman's Dorm Background: Aiman-Imran Anuar was accepted to Harvard Class of 2026.
