Xact Metal XM200G: Affordable SLM/DMLS 3D Printer Overview

Xact Metal XM200G: Affordable SLM/DMLS 3D Printer Overview Hi everyone! This is Top 3D Shop, and in this video, we will tell you about the Xact Metal XM200G 3D printer. The XM200G is one of the latest products rolled-out by US-based company Xact Metal which focuses on developing laser 3D printers that use metal powders as raw material. Aimed at a wide array of industries with demand for metal printing, the machine can be employed in mechanical engineering, aerospace, automotive, medical, and other spheres. Xact Metal specializes in relatively inexpensive 3D printers with a small build chamber that are based on selective laser melting and direct metal laser sintering technologies also referred to as SLM and DMLS. The first units designed by the company featured mechanical positioning of the laser beam where the printhead moved on rails. The XM200G is the first 3D printer by Xact Metal to use a galvanometric scanning system, which is more common for these types of devices. The unit is capable of working with fine powders of alloys based on aluminum, titanium, and nickel. The list of compatible materials also includes cobalt-chromium, bronze, copper and various steel grades. Available in two versions, the XM200G is equipped with one or two 100, 200, or 400 watt lasers. The user can also choose from two galvanoscanators with maximum beam positioning speeds of 20.7 or 34.6 meters per second. The galvanometric scanning system can be upgraded with water-cooling which increases its stability. F-Theta lenses used in the optical system feature a spot size of 50 or 100 microns. The XM200G offers the option of utilizing two lasers simultaneously with either a 66% overlapping work area in a 50 micron spot size or a 100% overlapping work area when the spot size is doubled. The thickness of a formed layer can vary from 20 to 100 microns. The working area of the Xact Metal XM200G 3D printer is a cube with a side of 150 millimeters. The print speed of a single laser unit is in the range from 6 to 9 cubic centimeters per hour while the two-laser version sinters metal powders at a speed of 12-16 cubic centimeters per hour. Controlled via a 19.5-inch touch screen, the device has the external dimensions of 65x78x193 centimeters. This is Top 3D Shop with the Xact Metal XM200G 3D printer overview.
