Soviet Space Hardware Is Set To Crash Down To Earth, But Where?

Scott Sutherland joins Matt DiNicolantonio to discuss Kosmos 482, which was a Soviet mission to Venus launched on March 31, 1972, but it failed to leave Earth's orbit and was deemed a failure. Shortly after launch, debris began reentering Earth's atmosphere, with four titanium spheres landing in New Zealand, causing damage to crops. The main piece, a Venus lander weighing about 500 kg, remains in orbit and is expected to fall to Earth within a 48-hour window from May 9 to May 11, 2025.
