The Armed Forces of Malta - High Profile Events

Following the successful Aid to the Civil Power (ATCP) security operation during the 2015 Valletta Summit on Migration, the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) would like to thank members of the public for their continuous understanding and cooperation. As part of their support function to the Malta Police Force and other government entities, the commitment and dedication of AFM officers and soldiers was commended by several dignitaries and high profile guests who attended the Summit. Together with other government entities including the Malta Police Force, the Civil Protection Department and Transport Malta, the AFM is once again fully engaged in security arrangements for this week’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM15).British Military Forces are providing specialized technical assistance responding to the AFM’s Operations Centre. As part of the above measures, some of the deployed elements of the AFM will be in public view. These form part of an established operational plan followed during such high profile events.
