主题:婴儿洗礼的根据 / The Basis for Infant Baptism 讲员:苏立忠牧师 / Rev Dr Caleb Soo 引言: 动物一生下来就是动物,孩子一生下来只是材料,要加以塑造才能成形的。 作为基督徒家长,不仅为孩子选择家居环境、学校、朋友、书籍、电视节目等,还有就是信仰。 幼洗就是家长带领孩子走上信仰路上重要的一步,然而一些人置疑幼洗的圣经根据。 Introduction: Animals are born as animals, children are born as materials, to be shaped and formed. As Christian parents, not only do we choose the home environment, school, freinds, books, television programs, there is faith too. Infant baptism is an important step for parents to take their children to the path of faith, but some doubt the biblical basis for infant baptism. 1) 皈依犹太教的历史背景 当外邦人进入犹太教,他们的孩子也要跟着一起接受皈依的洗礼。 后基督教的洗礼替代犹太教的割礼,因此不拘是基督徒父母所生的孩子,或是外邦人归主以及他们的小孩,都自然地要受洗归入教会。 相反的,如果婴儿洗礼与原始基督教的教义和措施相抵触,我们就当假定新约会对这样的洗礼加以清楚明白的禁止了! 1 ) Historical background of conversion to Judaism When the Gentiles converts to Judaism, their children will follow the conversion via baptism. The baptism of the Christian faith replaced Judaism's circumcision, so that the children born to Christian parents, or the Gentiles and their children, are naturally baptized into the church. Conversely, if infant baptism contradicts the doctrines and measures of the Christian faith, we assume that the baptism in the New Testament is clearly against for this baptism! 2) 从立约的角度 上帝与亚伯拉罕立约,立约的记号就是割礼,这记号不限于亚伯拉罕个人,而是包括他的后裔,甚至是从外人买回来的,并且世世代代相传(创17:1~14)。 割礼就是归入上帝根据赐予亚伯拉罕所立的约中,这割礼施行在小孩身上,亦包括外邦人。这显示小孩之蒙拣选不是基于教导与决志,乃是基于他们的出生,因为他们一出生就为上帝所预定要受割礼了! 新约的洗礼替代旧约的割礼,两者是具有共同的意义的,就是让人归入到上帝的恩典圣约中。 这显示基督教的洗礼不仅代替成全皈依洗礼,也代替并成全了接纳人的割礼,因此基督教洗礼的对象包括了男人、女人(加3:28)与婴孩。 约的应许不仅是个人性的,也是家庭性的,是给我们的子子孙孙的。 「耶和华的慈爱,归于敬畏祂的人,从亘古到永远,祂的公义,也归于子子孙孙,就是那些遵守祂的约,纪念祂的训词而遵行的人」(诗103:17,18)。 「因为这应许是给你们和你们的儿女,并一切在远方的人,就是主我们上帝所召来的」(徒2:39)。 2) From a covenantal perspective God made a covenant with Abraham; the sign of covenant is circumcision. The sign is not limited to the individual Abraham, but his descendants, including those bought from others, and passed down from generations to generations (Gen 17: 1-14). Circumcision is to be included in God's covenant with Abraham. This circumcision is applied to children as well as to the Gentiles. This shows that the elect of children is not based on teaching and decision, but on the basis of their birth, because they were predestined to be circumcised by God at birth! The baptism of the New Testament substitutes for the circumcision of the Old Testament, both of which have a common meaning, to be included in the covenant of God's grace. This shows that Christian baptism not only replaces the baptism of conversion, but also substitutes and fulfills the circumcision in the acceptance of a person. Therefore, the objects of Christian baptism include men, women (Gal. 3:28) and babies. The promise of the covenant is not only personal, but also family, and is for our children and grandchildren. But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments. (Ps. 103:17, 18) For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself. (Acts 2:39) 3) 从恩典论来看 在救恩的事上,上帝是绝对的主动者;上帝在我们爱祂之前,甚至在我们相信之前,已经在基督里「先爱我们」(约壹4:19)「先揀选我们」(约15:16)。 我们深信孩子是上帝揀选的对象,是神所爱的! 上帝的作为是先于人的信心,信心是跟随着上帝的恩典而来的,所以受洗归入上帝的教会,是上帝恩典的动作,然而洗礼后,仍要继续存留在这恩典中,所以我们必须强调孩子在受洗后,父母与教会有责任给予真理上的引导(申6:4~7),让他们建立起对神的信心! 3) From the grace point of view God is the absolute initiator of salvation; God loves us first before we love Him, even before we believe, we are in Him as “He first love us” (1 Jn 4:19) "Choose us first" (Jn 15:16). We are convinced that the child is chosen by God, is love by God! God's actions precede man's faith, and faith comes with the grace of God. So to be baptized into the church of God, it is the action of God's grace, but after baptism, we will remain in this grace, hence it is important that we emphasize that after baptism the parents and the church have a duty to give the guidance of the truth (Deut. 6: 4-7), so that they can build their faith in God! 最后,初期教会将马太19:13~15引证为幼洗的根据,强调耶稣按手祝福的举动正是在洗礼中的举动,也是借以赐下圣灵的姿势,换句话说,耶稣为小孩按手的动作,是表明接纳小孩进入耶稣的团契中,已成了圣灵运作的对象:「不要禁止他们,因为上帝国的,正是这样的人。」 因此,从儿童期孩子就应该归属上帝,并让他们成为教会的一份子,借洗礼进入教会之门。 而作为父母的更要负起教导、引导之责,不然就违背了在神前与教会所立的约! Lastly, the early Church quoted Matthew 19: 13-15 as the basis for infant baptism, stressing that the blessing of Jesus' hand is the act of baptism and the giving of the Holy Spirit, in other words, the action of the Jesus’ hand on children indicates the acceptance of the child into the fellowship of Jesus, becoming the object of the Holy Spirit's operation: "Do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven." Therefore, children from a tender age should belong to God, and let them be part of the church, enter into the church door via baptism.
