Rosetta Stone VS Duolingo: A Complete Comparison

An unbiased and genuine review of Rosetta Stone and Duolingo in terms of 7 aspects right now in 2020. ✔ subscribe:    / @magicalfluency   Let's begin our comparison between DUOLINGO and ROSETTA STONE Rosetta Stone uses the immersion method to teach you different languages. It is your way to learn your first language. You do not have any flashcards or anything. You just learn words wherever you were. That’s how Rosetta Stone works too. Rosetta stone also has good sound quality so that you can sound like a native. There are some high-quality photos so that you can see so clearly on what is inside the picture, and thus you can deduct what does the new sentence Rosetta Stone gives you mean. Rosetta Stone even has one of the most advanced algorithms in terms of speech recognition. It gives you a lot of advanced settings to match your voice. However, one downside of Rosetta Stone is that it doesn’t have an algorithm that reminds you with weak words that you frequently forget how to spell or how to read, etc. Another downside is its price. It is not as cheap as Duolingo, which is free. Even though you want to pay for Duolingo’s paid subscription called ‘Duolingo Plus’, it isn’t that expensive too. The most cost-effective plan I think of Rosetta Stone costs $199 for a lifetime subscription with unlimited languages. On the contrary, Duolingo is completely different from Rosetta Stone. Rosetta Stone wants to seem professional while Duolingo wants to seem gamified, making them completely different. Duolingo uses the translation approach to introduce you to a different language. There are a lot of things you can learn. However, it doesn’t have those nice photos like Rosetta Stone. Instead, it focuses on graphics. It also seems that all of the recordings are computer-generated, so people may not be able to talk in a near-perfect accent. So which one is better? I would say Rosetta Stone is slightly better. Why? I will tell you in the video by comparing these two programs in 7 aspects, which are effectiveness, speech recognition, how interactive the programs are, how fun to use are they, user interface and course content quality.
