Let me explain how I have built it in this video. First of all, we need a Sanitizer dispenser that can dispense the sanitizer by pressing it from the top. Then we need a strong cable that can be used to press the sanitizer. To stabilize it I have cut a small part from the glue gun stick and made a hole in the middle of it to pass the cable. Our idea is to build a mechanism that can pull the cable so the sanitizer is dispensed from the bottle. Now, let's connect Arduino to the PC and write the required code. An ultrasonic sensor would be used to detect our hand movement. As soon as a movement is detected, a Servo Motor would run clockwise for half a second and anticlockwise for another half second. Servo motor gets connected to digital pin 9 on Arduino Trigger and Echo pins of the Ultrasonic sensor connects to digital pin 10 and 11 respectively If ultrasonic sensor senses any movement within 10 cms It would turn servo motor clockwise for half a second It would then stop for half more second before it turns anti clockwise for another half second Finally it would not detect any hand movement for 2 more seconds. To Build this Automatic hand sanitizer we need the following components 1. An Arduino uno or Arduino nano microcontroller 2. A breadboard to extend the connections from Arduino 3. Ultrasonic sensor or Infrared sensor to sense our hand movement 4. High power Servo motor which can pull the cable in both directions 5. Jumper wires to connect the components to Arduino and also to the breadboard 6. Arduino USB cable to power up the Arduino 7. A strong cable which can be be attached to the motor, I am using a flower Bouquet cable 8. Few Cable ties to secure the components 9. A Battery or a power bank for power supply 10. A Glue Gun to secure ultrasonic sensor 11. Obviously, the sanitizer bottle itself 12. A box or a basket to enclose all these components. 13. Finally, A lid to cover the opening. I have cut the mica sheet available at our home and drilled holes for the cable and also to fit in the ultrasonic sensor. Now, let's start building it 1. With the help of the cable ties I have secured the motor tightly in one corner of the basket. 2. I am Using double sided tape to secure the Arduino board and also the breadboard inside the basket 3. Similarly I am securing Power bank inside the basket 4. Lets now connect the components as per our diagram using dupont jumper cables and jumper wires 5. Lets connect the servo motor wires to the arduino and breadboard using dupont jumper cables 6. Lets also connect our Ultrasonic sensor and power up the arduino using the usb cable 7. Using Glue gun let's attach ultrasonic sensor to the lid of the basket 8. Now, the Important part lets insert the cable from the drilled hole of the lid and tighten one side of it to the motor 9. After placing the sanitizer inside let's close the lid 10. Let's also add two way sticker at the top of the sanitizer for firm grip 11. Finally lets tie other end of the cable to the basket itself 12. Let's test it now, wow it's working. Let's add some text to make it interesting… Thank you everyone for your time.
