“Gaslighting British People To Shut Them Up!" | Report Rejects Claims Of 'Two-Tier Policing'

A report by MPs found that police responded appropriately to the 2024 riots, rejecting claims of “two-tier policing” as baseless. The Home Affairs Committee said there was no evidence that protesters were treated unfairly due to political views. The riots followed a brutal attack in Southport that killed three girls and sparked violence across the UK, with mosques and asylum centres targeted. Public figures like Nigel Farage, Tommy Robinson and Elon Musk accused police of bias, comparing it to the softer approach to 2020’s Black Lives Matter protests. But police and Government officials strongly denied this, calling the riots “criminal disorder,” not protest. Between July 30 and August 7, there were 29 riots across 27 towns. Over 1,800 arrests were made, with more than 1,000 charges. The violence injured 302 officers and cost police over £28 million.
