Using The RSI To Trade Stocks (The Right Way)

In this video, I discuss the best way to use the RSI indicator to trade stocks. The RSI should be used as an oscillator in rangebound/sideways markets or old economy stocks (buy at 30, sell at 70). The RSI should be used as a trend confirmation indicator in growth or tech stocks (especially if they are hitting new 52-week highs or new all-time highs). When the RSI closes above 70 in this case, it can be a sign that the stock is about to really take off. One should also pay close attention to company fundamentals and future prospects. One good earnings report can enough to indicate to investors that something has fundamentally changed for the better at the company, and that the stock needs to rerate higher. In this case, shorting a stock based on an overbought RSI can be true folly. Relative strength index (RSI): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relativ... Not investment advice!
