Captain 'Lin Htet Aung,' a former officer of the 528th Light Infantry Brigade in Shan state in eastern Myanmar, risked his life and defected from the military last March. The reason why he decided to leave the military, which he had been in for 13 years since he was 17 years old, was because he could not point a gun at the people. I could never join the coup forces because they are like a terrorist group that lies all the time and destroys everything for their own interests."
