The inner gate dates from 1460, while the outer gate is slightly younger, namely from 1537. He proudly holds a model of the city in one hand.17 : Chilling on Banje Beach16 : Take a boat trip to the Elaphiti IslandsThere are 13 islands in total, of which only 3 are inhabited: Koločep, Lopud, and Šipan. The Elaphiti Islands were colonized by the Dubrovnik Republic in the 13th century. In the 16th century, the islands were attacked by the Turks, after which several military strongholds were built, remains of which can still be seen today.15 : LapadMost hotels are located in Lapad, about 10 minutes from Dubrovnik. Every day, divers take a dip in the water of the Neretva River from the renovated bridge. 9: The monastery in DubrovnikThe Franciscan monastery of Dubrovnik has a long history!
