Grandiose and Covert narcissists have contrasting ways of expressing their traits. With grandiose narcissism we haughty behaviour, arrogance and being highly resistant to criticism. With covert narcissism we see low mood, a sense of perpetual victimhood and helplessness, and being highly sensitive to criticism. But both have an exaggerated sense of self importance, a lack of empathy for others, both would have a huge sense of entitlement, a constant need for validation, and are both highly disagreeable.
