Over the years I’ve worked hard on my photo editing skillset in Photoshop to create imagery I’m proud of. Finished photos worthy of being printed large on the wall. In this video, I share my photo post-production techniques in how I take a pretty average image capture of London’s Tower Bridge and push it towards what I had in my mind’s eye when I took the photo. This is part 1 of 3 in which you see my photo editing workflow to completely transform the photo of Tower Bridge. In this episode, I narrate my workflow as I take a dramatic sky and replace the rather tepid sky I faced on the day. The steps include masking out the intricate bridge with the pen tool and using the selection to drop in the replacement sky. We then look at a couple of methods for matching the colours between the composited elements. Coming soon: Part 2: We look at creating a pleasing water reflection Part 3: The fun part of finishing the image with a look and colour grading with Luminar Flex.
