Hello everyone! I would like to thank you for helping me reaching and surpassing 380 subscribers, I decided to upload a select compilation of Airbus A380s I have recorded since I started filming aircraft in July of 2021. This video series will include A380s with special liveries as well as Airbus A380s no longer in service. With 251 units ever produced, the Airbus A380 is an engineering marvel. Weighing in at a whopping 580 tonnes, the FAA classifies the Airbus A380 as "Supers." Originally developed to compete against the Boeing 747, the Airbus A380 was supposed to be a game-changer within the civilian aviation market and challenge Boeing's role in the market. Airbus commenced work on the A380 in the 1980s, and officially announcing the project at the 1990 Farnborough Airshow. Airbus was developing the aircraft of up to 15% lower operating costs than the Boeing 747. The project led to a double-decker aircraft dubbed as the 'A3XX.' The project was renamed the Airbus A380 when the aircraft type began construction in the year 2000. The first production Airbus A380 rolled off the Toulouse production line in January 2005. The A380 entered commercial service with launch customer Singapore Airlines on the 15th of October 2007. Emirates was the second customer of the A380 with its first delivery in August 2008 and Qantas as the third customer with its first delivery in October 2008.
