Nailing It Down: Multipolarity--What is, What isn't, and What it could be.

Multipolarity is not a finalized concept, and cannot be reduced to one vision of it. However, it is also not historically a concept of positive political economy nor a coherent political vision. It comes from classical realist political conceptions after World War 1 and has fundamentally different concerns from Marxist anti-imperialism or liberal multilateralism. It can be either imperial or anti-imperial, and even with classical and neo-realist schools was hotly debated.
