Video: Persian Dutch Network (www.PersianDutch.com) - The lecturers: Leonard Lewisohn, Janes Lewisohn, Sayed Asghar Ghorab, and performers: Babak Kamgar (tar) and Mercede Hashemi (avaz). The event was organized in September 2012 at Leiden University in The Netherlands which has one of the oldest Persian studies departments in the world. Hafez (1325--1390), was a Persian lyric poet. His collected works composed of series of Persian poetry (Divan) are to be found in the homes of most people in Persia [Iran], Afghanistan and Tajikistan , as well as elsewhere in the world, who learn his poems by heart and use them as proverbs and sayings to this day.
