lightfast test update: I put my swatches in direct sunlight for 2 and a half months and had significant fading on #115 violet but the other colors remained unchanged. I was surprised to see PV15 fade so quickly because it has an ASTM lightfast rating of 1 and a Blue Wool rating of 8, so maybe that pigment info is wrong. I am happy to see the other colors unchanged tho! Today I am reviewing the set of 12 basic gouache paint colors from Shinhan: https://amzn.to/46riAX5 You can also purchase open-stock tubes (recommended) at Jacksons: https://www.jacksonsart.com/en-us/sea... This is their professional range. It is a bit hard to find openstock in America but this set was affordable at about $4 per tube so I decided to give it a try because I love their PWC/SWC watercolors. Pros: Bold bright colors Colors mix well Opaque Not chalky Easy to paint with Evenly matte Very pigmented, even in washes Cons: Several of the colors in this set use pigments that are not as lightfast as I would like for professional gouache. Bottom Line: I really like the paint but I should have researched the pigments used before purchasing rather than just looking at color names, that's on me. If you mainly do sketchbook work I would recommend these. If you want to display or sell your work I would still recommend this line of paint but I would choose open stock colors using more lightfast pigments. I really love using this paint so I am going to do my own lightfast test and see how the paint does in my sunniest window for a couple of months.
