"I have known James for almost 10 years now, we met when I first came to Berlin at a club where he was performing in drag with a group of other drag performers and artists - “The Real Housewives of Neukolln”. Since that first performance, I had a great desire to work with James on a dance piece together. The last winter James and I finally did. The project in the end never came together, but the dance lived on. It was a dance full of experimentation, fumbling speed, and failed communication as I (a director not a choreographer) and James (a dancer who had not danced for years) found a way into working and moving together through winter cold. This dance is the first time James had choreographed and performed as a dancer since he was run over by a lorry in London. The accident sidelined his dance career, and I always wanted to bring him out of retirement for one more dance. I see this as our dance together.
