When I worked in consulting and banking, the open-plan office was pure torture. Endless desks, constant noise, and nowhere quiet to think. With ADHD, I process differently. My brain doesn’t do well with distractions. Conversations next to me would pull my attention, and staying focused felt like a constant test. But despite this, I did well — even earning accelerated promotions. How? I built systems that allowed me to thrive.
