This virtual run begins on the Barcelona Bridge, high above the harbor and port, a major embarkation / disembarkation point for European cruise ships. In the distance, you can see the shimmering, sail-like W Barcelona hotel (as we experienced more up-close and personally on our last excursion to Barcelona) rising luxuriously above the shore. Next, you'll head to Olympic Park, where the needle-like Montjuic Communications Tower stands tall, a modernistic representation of an athlete carrying the Olympic flame. Further on, you'll visit Diagonal Mar Park, a modern playground complete with a small pond and featuring numerous twisting steel structures that are as functional as they are artistic, as they carry water from underground to feed the plants and other vegetation through out the park. As your virtual run continues, you'll encounter the colossal La Sagrada Famiilia, a medieval-styled cathedral that has been under construction since 1882 - the most visited monument in Spain, with more than 4.5 million visitors each year. Ultimately, your run will end at the entrance of the vast city park known as Parc de la Ciutadella, where you'll visit the grand stone structure named Cascada Monumental, its golden horses gleaming atop an archway overlooking a two-tiered fountain.
