Hadiths Quoted: On the authority Abu Hurairah (ra) who said, ‘The angel of death was sent to Musa, peace be upon them both, and when he went to him, he (Musa (as)) slapped him severely (spoiling one of his eyes). He (the angel (as)) went back to his Lord and said, ‘You sent me to a slave who does not want to die’. Allah restored his eye and said, ‘Go back and tell him (Musa (as)) to place his hand over the back of an ox, for he will be allowed to live for a number of years equal to the number of hairs coming under his hand’. [Then the angel (as) came to him and told him the same]. Then he (Musa (as)) said, ‘O my Lord! Then what (will happen)?’ He said, ‘Then death’. He said, ‘Then (let it be) now’. ‘Fasa’al-Allaha an yudniyahu min-l-Ardhi-l-Muaqddasati ramyatan bihajar’. Then he asked Allah to bring him near the Sacred Land at a distance of a stone’s throw. He (the narrator) said, ‘The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “If I were there, I would surely show you his grave at the side of the path near the red sand dune”’.
