If something feels off or dangerous, don't second-guess yourself. Trust your gut and get out of the situation as quickly as possible. Secondly, always be aware of your surroundings. This means keeping your head up, your eyes open, and your ears alert. Avoid getting distracted by your phone or other devices while walking, and if you're listening to music, keep the volume low enough to still be aware of what's happening around you. Another important tip is to stay in well-lit and populated areas. Avoid dark alleys, empty parking lots, or any other areas that could potentially put you in harm's way.
