How to Update a Blog Post so it ranks higher on Google. It is important to keep your content updated so that it stays ranking. There are a couple of rules to follow. 1. Make sure the post to be updated is between 6 and 12 months old. 2. Don't update posts that are ranking in the first 3 positions. 3. Update relevant keywords for the searcher's intent. 4. Add a minimum of 300 words to be considered by Google as having been updated. 5. Change the published post date. 6. Add the updated post URL to Google Search Console and as to be indexed.
