Bumthang Valley is at 7-8 hours from Thimphu. Fortunately, we were here at the time of their yearly festival. It was a 3 day festival where locals gather for witnessing mass dance performances, offering prayers etc. The way to Bumthang valley crosses many waterfalls, water prayer wheels, villages, bridges and is such a treat to eyes. The driver charged Rs. 4000 per day as he took us from Thimphu to Bumthang and also covered Probhjika and Punakha Valley while getting back to Thimphu/Phuntsholing.
