To register for future events, please visit: https://bit.ly/2CeMipH *** "The economic impact of Covid-19 in emerging economies" with guest speaker Mikael Homanen, Senior Research Specialist at PRI (Principles of Responsible Investment, hosted by Prof Andre Spicer In this webinar, we will discuss Mikael’s latest research into how nearly 500 listed firms in 10 emerging markets reacted to COVID-19 and what this might mean for the future. Possibly contrary to expectations, there is a surprising degree of support vis-à-vis employees, customers, other stakeholders and broader society. Interestingly, stakeholder-centric firms experienced lower stock price declines during the crisis drawdown. What will this mean for the next 12 months? Mikael Homanen heads academic research at PRI and is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Business School (formerly Cass). Research interests include ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) Finance, Social Banking and Illicit Financial Flows. Through the course of his research, he hopes to address difficult topics that combine financial, environmental and social sustainability. He was previously a Bradley Fellow at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a visiting scholar at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and he has also worked as a Consultant at the World Bank’s Development Economics Research Group (DECRG), Finance and Private Sector Research team. Andre Spicer is Professor of Organisational Behaviour at Cass. He is author of The Stupidity Paradox, Business Bullsh*t, and Desperate Seeking Self Improvement. Friendly guy who likes chatting to people, so hosting a webinar series is a dream come true. *** Find out more about the Business School (formerly Cass): Website: http://bit.ly/2p9srOy Facebook: / cassofficial Twitter: / cassbusiness Instagram: https://bit.ly/3hd5N2b LinkedIn: https://bit.ly/3dOfCBv #FoodForThought #SummerSeries
