In this video I’m drawing a face with pencil using a reference photo of a man in a hat. I’m using a quick sketching technique to capture the expression of the face. The line work in this sketch is with a charcoal pencil on standard cartridge paper. I like this photo because of the real character the old fashioned hat and jacket give but it also will be a bit of a challenge as they cover up some of the face used to structure the sketch.
