English Tip: Learn Pronunciation Like A Native Speaker One of the reasons that you have trouble understanding native speakers is because we use words and pronunciations that they just don't teach you in textbooks. Here's an example. Now, spelled out, what are some of. That's easy to understand, but I didn't say that. I said, "What're” What're, what're summa of the things?" I didn't say some of, I said, "Summa” What're some of the things? What're some of the things? This is called weak form or short form, and it really happens just because we speak quickly. So part of your job as an English learner is to listen for these weak form pronunciations, and I'll teach you in some videos. This'll be the first of this series. We'll do some more.
