This conversion saved me hundreds of $$. Please feel free to donate to a special non-profit if you've been helped: https://lifebridge-community.org/give If your 2004-06 Toyota Sienna came from the factory with HID headlights, you are likely aware of the headaches involved in replacing the ballasts and the headlights. This video shows how to replace the factory HID system (low beam) with a standard halogen system when you purchase a standard halogen light assembly (for both sides). Once complete you will no longer need to remove the front quarter panels to change the ballasts because you won't need ballasts. The main reason you will likely find yourself wanting to do this is that your headlamp assemblies have become FADED and need replaced. You'll find that it's almost impossible to purchase replacement headlamp assemblies that fit the previous factory HID bulbs. If you do find them, they are VERY expensive. Rather than spend the money and prolong the agony of the high maintenance HID halogen system, simply purchase the standard halogen headlamp assemblies and CONVERT your lights to standard halogens so you no longer require the ballasts. This video will show you how. NOTE: I am not an electrician, but this worked on my van. I did not change the fuses, so the amperage is the same as the amperage which previously fed the HID halogen ballasts. It seems to work fine, but if you are risk averse, you might want to do more research. Please feel free to comment below. 4/10/25 updated comment: These have worked on my van for FOUR years now with no problems. I believe this is a good repair. MISTAKE NOTE: At 1:00, I speak of a "standard HID bulb" and should have said "standard halogen bulb." MISTAKE NOTE: At 3:47, I say "this just has a plug." The screw to which I point is not a "plug," but the headlight adjustment screw. By turning it clockwise/counter-clockwise, you adjust the high light beam up/down.
