Pakse is the capital city of Champasak Province in southern Laos. It was found by the French colonists in 1905 when Laos was part of French Indochina. Now this city is the third largest city in Laos, well known for, having one of the best cuisine, coffee and the 11th century ruined Hindu temple complex called "Watt Phu" It's close to 4000 island and one of the attractions close by the city is Tad Fan waterfall located 40km away. Downtown center where the old town area is you'll see this beautiful Catholic church standing peaceful right in the middle of the city and of course there are quite a few beautiful Buddhist temples nearby as well like Wat Luang the biggest temple in the city. When you walk around the city you'll be surprised how many colonial buildings there are and more surprised is there are so many vietnamese people living in this city. An ex-Buddhist monk from Laos with a big dream of seeing the world.
