Nicholas Brendon rushed to hospital following 'cardiac incident'

Nicholas Brendon was recently hospitalized after suffering a 'heart attack'. A spokesperson revealed on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star's Instagram page that the 51-year-old was taken to hospital in an ambulance earlier this month with an irregular heart rate of more than 100 beats per minute. "Nikki sent his love and wanted me to apologize for not going live recently and to give everyone an update," the post read. "Nikki is fine now but had to be taken to the ER about two weeks ago due to a heart accident (tachycardia/arrhythmia)." The post showed photos of Brendon in an ambulance, sitting in a wheelchair at the emergency room reception, and resting in a hospital bed. The picture ended with a picture of the actor and a dog. The spokesperson went on to explain that Brendon, who played Xander Harris on the show, had a similar cardiac accident after undergoing spinal surgery last year for a defect in the roots of some of his spinal nerves. "Some of you may remember he had a similar accident after his second spinal surgery last year (for the Cauda Equina) but this time. He's trying to get more rest and has been focusing on medical appointments (sic)," the post ended.
