Banks have STOPPED LENDING

The Credit Crisis has started. Bloomberg is reporting that Banks stopped lending in the wake of the SVB Banking Crisis. With loans declining by $105 Billion at the end of March. This decline in Bank Lending is a signal that the US Economy is tipping further into Recession in 2023. With other recession signals also sounding off. Like a big drop off in the Manufacturing sector with the ISM Manufacturing Index plunging in 2023. A manufacturing recession, combined with a credit crisis, is already showing up in the jobs data. Data from the Federal Reserve shows a big increase in Continued Unemployment Claims over the last six months, increasing from 1.2 million to 1.8 million. Another big problem in the economy right now is Mortgages. The Mortgage Default rate has surged in over the last six months for FHA Mortgages, all the way up to 12%.
